Former Imo State Governor and ex-Senator, Rochas Okorocha, has dismissed reports claiming that a court ordered his arrest over allegations of criminal conspiracy and forgery.
Okorocha’s camp, through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, challenged those circulating the report to produce the alleged court order within 48 hours.
The statement was in response to a report published on October 9 under the headline, “Court Orders Arrest of Okorocha, Araraume, Others for Criminal Conspiracy, Forgery.”
According to the former governor’s camp, no Senior Magistrate Court or High Court anywhere in the country had issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
The statement alleged that the report was initially disseminated by a media aide to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma before being amplified by several media outlets.
The report had claimed that a Senior Magistrate Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant on September 9, 2026, following a petition by the Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Chukwuemeka Ibejiako.
However, Okorocha’s camp argued that the timeline presented in the report was inconsistent, noting that the petition relied upon was dated October 8, 2026, while the alleged bench warrant was reportedly issued a month earlier.
The statement maintained that the sequence of events was impossible and described the claims as misleading and politically motivated.
