NBA Section on Business Law Marks 20th Conference With Focus on Measuring Policy Impact

The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law has announced its 20th Annual International Business Law Conference, to be held from June 8 to 10, 2026 in Abuja under the theme “Beyond Reforms: Measuring Policy Impact,” marking two decades of convening legal, business, and policy stakeholders to shape Nigeria’s commercial and regulatory landscape.

NBA-SBL Chairman Ozofu Latunde Ogiemudia described the 20th edition as a deliberate shift from conversations about reform to a more focused examination of what reforms had actually produced, arguing that the time had come to move beyond declarations of policy intent toward rigorous assessment of measurable outcomes for businesses, institutions, and the broader economy.

“Twenty years on, this conference has evolved into more than a gathering of professionals; it is a platform that actively shapes how law supports business growth and economic development in Nigeria. This year’s theme reflects a necessary shift from conversations about reform to a more deliberate focus on impact, what has changed, what is working, and what must be done differently to drive sustainable progress,” Ogiemudia said.

The conference will bring together legal practitioners, business leaders, policymakers, regulators, investors, and innovators to examine the real impact of reforms through keynote sessions, expert panels, and case-driven conversations covering business law, finance, technology, and governance. It will also feature high-level networking designed to foster collaboration, investment, and long-term partnerships. The event is supported by headline sponsors Aluko and Oyebode, Duale, Ovia and Alex-Adedipe, and Banwo and Ighodalo.
