Chairman of Heirs Holdings and founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Tony O. Elumelu, has stressed the need for stronger partnerships, strategic investments, and visionary leadership to drive Africa’s transformation.
Elumelu made the remarks during the opening day of the 2026 Africa Forward Summit held in Nairobi, where global leaders, investors, and private sector stakeholders gathered to discuss the future of economic growth and regional integration across the continent.
Discussions at the summit focused on key sectors including infrastructure, logistics, energy integration, digital innovation, and cross-border financing as critical drivers for unlocking the full potential of intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area framework.
Participants at the summit also explored strategies for strengthening economic cooperation among African nations and accelerating sustainable development through increased private sector participation and regional partnerships.
