President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja following the Eid-el-Kabir holiday in Lagos, where he participated in a series of political, governmental and national engagements.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 5:17 p.m. and was received by senior government officials, including Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu.
During the holiday period, the President received several delegations on traditional Sallah homage visits, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and members of the National Assembly leadership led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
He also hosted members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by its chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Oyo State and candidates for elective offices from Lagos State.
As part of his official engagements, President Tinubu attended the International Fleet Review held at the Eko Atlantic Waterfront in Lagos to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy. During the event, he commissioned three naval vessels, NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara.
The President also held talks with Romuald Wadagni, President of Benin, in a meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations, regional cooperation and economic ties between the neighbouring countries.
Before the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, Tinubu participated in the APC primary elections in Lagos and was subsequently endorsed as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
With his return to the Federal Capital Territory, the President is expected to resume official duties and continue overseeing the implementation of his administration’s programmes and policies.
