PSC Hands 50,000 Recruited Constables to Police for Training

The Police Service Commission has formally handed over 50,000 newly recruited police constables to the Nigeria Police Force for training.

The handover took place at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

PSC Commissioner representing the judiciary, retired Justice Paul Galumje, said the recruitment was conducted in line with the presidential directive and relevant statutory requirements.

He presented the list of successful candidates to the police for deployment to designated training colleges and approved institutions.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Isyaku Mohammed, who received the recruits on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, described the recruitment exercise as transparent.

He said training would begin simultaneously across the country once the necessary funding was released.

The Ministry of Police Affairs also described the process as credible.

PSC Secretary Onyemuche Nnamani attributed the successful completion of the exercise to cooperation among the institutions involved.
