APC Chairman Says Tinubu Reforms Restoring Investor Confidence

All Progressives Congress National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda has defended President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying the policies are beginning to restore investor confidence and improve Nigeria’s growth prospects.

Speaking at a colloquium in Jos marking his 58th birthday, Yilwatda said difficult policy decisions avoided by previous administrations were producing measurable economic gains.

He said Nigeria’s economic growth was beginning to outpace population growth and cited an increase in the size of the economy as evidence of improving performance.

Yilwatda also pointed to stronger exports, renewed investment interest and infrastructure projects in ports, railways, highways and inland dry ports.

He argued that those investments would reduce business costs, expand trade and position Nigeria as a major economic hub in West and Central Africa.

The APC chairman described the administration’s approach as a long-term development strategy rather than a programme designed for immediate political advantage.

He pledged to campaign for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, represented by Minister of Steel Development Shuaibu Audu, praised Yilwatda for strengthening the APC and managing nationwide party primaries.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang described Yilwatda as an academic, technocrat and administrator whose career could inspire young Nigerians.

Mutfwang also highlighted the government’s $1 trillion economy target and the reforms intended to support it, including tax changes, subsidy removal and investment in infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing and technology.
