The Nigerian Communications Commission has been ranked among the top three best-performing federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the 2026 Public Service Reforms Performance Assessment conducted by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms.
The commission placed third overall following an evaluation across indicators including a self-assessment tool, Freedom of Information compliance, a fiscal transparency index and website performance. The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council took first and second.
Representing NCC chief executive Aminu Maida at the Abuja ceremony, Executive Commissioner for Technical Services Abraham Oshadami thanked the bureau and said the recognition acknowledged the commission’s ongoing reforms and the need to sustain them.
He said the recognition reflected efforts to strengthen service quality, transparency and responsiveness for telecoms consumers, and reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to using regulatory tools to improve service quality and consumer protection.
Bureau Director General Dasuki Arabi commended participating agencies, particularly the top performers, for their work on transparency and open governance, noting that the annual event marks the United Nations Public Service Day.
