Tinubu Celebrates Fashola at 63, Hails His Public Service Record

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Lagos State governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on his 63rd birthday, marked on June 28, highlighting his contributions to public service, governance and national development.

In a statement by presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga, the President described Fashola as an outstanding administrator, accomplished lawyer and patriotic Nigerian whose leadership had left an enduring legacy, particularly in Lagos.

Tinubu recalled Fashola’s service as his Chief of Staff between 2003 and 2006 and as Lagos governor from 2007 to 2015, during which he pursued reforms in infrastructure, transport, security, education, healthcare and public administration that helped transform the state.

He also commended Fashola’s service in the federal cabinet between 2015 and 2023, when he oversaw the ministries of Works, Power and Housing, and wished him many more years of good health and fulfilment as he continued to contribute to the country.
