Defence Minister Musa Joins APC 2027 Campaign Council, Pledges to Prioritise National Security

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd.), has accepted his appointment as Secretary I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.

Musa expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for the confidence reposed in him, describing the appointment as a call to greater national service.

In accepting the responsibility, the Defence Minister pledged to discharge his campaign duties with diligence, discipline and commitment while working towards victory for the APC in the 2027 presidential election.

Musa, however, stressed that his new political assignment would not affect his constitutional responsibilities as Minister of Defence.

He reaffirmed that the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and the safety of citizens remained his foremost priority.

According to him, ongoing military operations, strategic reforms and collaboration among the country’s security agencies would continue with renewed vigour.

The minister also called on APC members and patriotic Nigerians to remain united in support of the Tinubu administration, expressing confidence that the party would secure victory at the 2027 polls.

His appointment comes as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential election and mobilises its leadership and structures ahead of the campaign season.
