Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly referred to as diesel.
The new prices will take effect from Thursday, August 6, as the refinery continues its drive to make refined petroleum products more affordable for consumers and businesses across Nigeria.
Under the revised pricing structure, the ex-depot price of PMS has been reduced by ₦50 per litre, dropping from ₦1,215 to ₦1,165 per litre.
Similarly, the refinery lowered the ex-depot price of diesel by ₦80 per litre, bringing the price down from ₦1,650 to ₦1,570 per litre.
According to the refinery, the latest price adjustment reflects its commitment to improving energy affordability, expanding access to high-quality petroleum products, and supporting economic activities nationwide.
The company said it remains focused on ensuring a stable supply of refined products while leveraging operational efficiencies to deliver greater value to consumers, marketers and other stakeholders.
The latest reduction comes amid ongoing efforts by the refinery, owned by Nigerian billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote, to strengthen domestic fuel supply and reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products.
Industry observers say the price cut could influence retail pump prices in the coming days, depending on marketers’ pricing strategies and distribution costs.
