Alausa Commends Dangote Foundation’s Share Grant Initiative for Students

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has praised the Aliko Dangote Foundation for launching a share grant initiative designed to encourage tertiary institution students to participate in Nigeria’s capital market through the ongoing Dangote Refinery Initial Public Offering (IPO).

The programme allows eligible students who subscribe to at least 10 shares of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE to qualify for an additional application for 10 shares funded by the foundation, subject to verification and other conditions.

Alausa described the initiative as an innovative effort to promote financial literacy, investment culture and economic empowerment among young Nigerians.

According to the minister, the programme aligns with the Federal Government’s human capital development agenda by exposing students to practical aspects of savings, investment and long-term wealth creation.

He stressed that the initiative could also encourage broader discussions about entrepreneurship, personal finance and asset ownership within tertiary institutions.

The Dangote Refinery IPO seeks to raise approximately ₦2.15 trillion through the offer of 4.1 billion ordinary shares at ₦525 per share.
