APC Chairman Charges Campaign Security Team on Safety Ahead of Elections

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has charged the Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council to ensure the safety of members during the 2027 election campaigns.

Yilwatda, represented by APC Deputy National Secretary Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, gave the directive during the inauguration of the committee in Abuja.

He commended the directorate for being the first campaign committee to establish its operational structures ahead of wider campaign activities.

The APC chairman described the committee’s assignment as critical, noting that campaign activities would intensify as the election period approaches.

Director of Intelligence and Security, retired General Sarkin Bello, said the committee would focus on protecting campaign officials, maintaining discipline and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.

Also speaking, Minister of Defence and Secretary of the Directorate, General Christopher Musa, stressed the importance of teamwork and effective coordination.

Musa said the committee must work to provide a secure environment for campaign activities while collaborating with the party’s information team to counter misinformation and highlight the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, emphasizing the need for peaceful and orderly campaigns across the country.
