The Asaba Development Union Women’s Wing in Lagos will hold a free medical outreach for members and residents of Amuwo Odofin on August 22, 2026.
The programme is intended to expand access to preventive healthcare and encourage early detection of common medical conditions.
Beneficiaries will receive free blood pressure and blood sugar checks as well as medical consultations and health education.
Organisers said the intervention would go beyond screening by helping 150 people enrol in the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme administered by the Lagos State Health Management Agency.
The health insurance component is intended to provide beneficiaries with continuing access to healthcare after the outreach ends.
The ADU Women’s Wing said the initiative reflected its commitment to service, compassion and community development.
The medical team said early detection was especially important for people who rarely undergo routine health checks.
Organisers also stressed that screening without access to treatment could have limited value.
They said the insurance enrolment component was therefore designed to create a more sustainable pathway to care.
The association thanked medical professionals, members, partners and supporters contributing to the programme.
The outreach is expected to serve vulnerable and underserved residents while promoting greater awareness of preventive healthcare.
