The Labour Party has unveiled Hajja Konto as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election, pairing her with the party’s presidential flagbearer, Dr. Chibuzo Okereke.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ken Asogwa.
According to Asogwa, Konto’s nomination followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders across the party and was guided by the Labour Party’s commitment to competence, integrity, inclusiveness, patriotism and effective public service.
He said the choice of the vice-presidential candidate reflects the party’s determination to present a credible leadership team capable of addressing Nigeria’s pressing socio-economic and governance challenges.
The party expressed confidence that the Okereke-Konto ticket embodies its vision of promoting accountable governance, national unity and sustainable development ahead of the 2027 general election.
Asogwa added that the Labour Party remains committed to deepening internal democracy and providing Nigerians with a credible alternative leadership capable of delivering meaningful reforms and improving the welfare of citizens.
He urged party members and supporters nationwide to rally behind the presidential ticket as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
