VeryDarkMan Declines Lagos Police Invitation, Cites Allegations Against CP Moshood Jimoh

Social media activist and influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has said he will not honour an invitation reportedly extended to him by the Lagos State Police Command, citing his ongoing allegations of corruption against the state’s Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh.

In a video shared on his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan claimed he could not expect a fair process under the Lagos State Police Command because, according to him, officers in the command report directly to the Commissioner of Police.

The activist stated that he has been publicly accusing CP Jimoh of corruption for several weeks and argued that responding to the invitation under the current circumstances would be inappropriate.

According to him, he has no confidence in the command’s ability to handle the matter impartially, given his public criticisms of the police commissioner.

VeryDarkMan, however, did not indicate whether he would honour the invitation if it were transferred to another police formation or handled by a different authority.

The Lagos State Police Command has yet to publicly respond to the activist’s claims or comment on his refusal to honour the invitation.

The development comes amid an ongoing public dispute between VeryDarkMan and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, with the activist repeatedly making allegations of corruption against the police chief. As of the time of filing this report, the allegations remain unproven, and CP Moshood Jimoh has not been found liable by any court or disciplinary authority.
