UBA Rewards Customers With N400 Million in Anniversary Bonuses

United Bank for Africa has rewarded thousands of customers with more than N400 million in anniversary bonuses under its Bumper Account, one of the largest loyalty payouts since the product launched.

The bank said qualifying customers received the bonuses directly into their accounts, describing the payout as part of its commitment to rewarding loyalty and encouraging a strong savings culture. The Bumper Account rewards customers each year an eligible account reaches its anniversary.

Head of Retail Products Tomiwa Sotiloye said the bank believed loyalty deserved meaningful recognition, and that surpassing the N400 million mark reflected its commitment to products that both help customers save and reward them tangibly.

In a separate development, UBA mobilised thousands of employees across 20 African countries for a coordinated environmental clean-up under its Jogging to Bond wellness initiative, themed “The Power Within U,” with staff cleaning public spaces from Lagos to Accra, Nairobi and Dakar.

The exercise coincided with the 60th birthday of Group Managing Director Oliver Alawuba, who joined staff for the event and said the bank’s greatest strength lay in its people, while Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications Alero Ladipo said the initiative reflected the bank’s holistic approach to employee welfare and sustainability.
