Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force, South-South Operation DELTA SAFE, have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a raid operation in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The operation, carried out on June 4, 2026, was based on credible intelligence aimed at curbing criminal activities and enhancing security in the state.
According to military authorities, the recovered weapons and motorcycles were discovered in an abandoned police station within the Ibusa community during the raid.
The Commander of the 63 Brigade, Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their professionalism, resilience, and commitment to the operation.
He urged personnel to sustain the current momentum in ongoing security operations and maintain pressure on criminal elements operating within the brigade’s area of responsibility.
Shonibare reaffirmed the military formation’s determination to deny criminals freedom of action and ensure the safety of residents across Delta State and the wider Niger Delta region.
He also warned individuals and groups involved in illegal possession of arms or other criminal activities that security agencies would continue to pursue and prosecute offenders in accordance with the law.
The recovery is part of ongoing efforts by Operation DELTA SAFE to combat crime, dismantle criminal networks, and improve security across the South-South region.
