Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga has called for legal action against social media personality VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, over the circulation of an alleged fake audio involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Reacting in a statement, Onanuga accused the social media influencer of disseminating false content capable of misleading the public and abusing digital platforms.

“This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform,” Onanuga stated.

The presidential aide did not provide further details about the audio recording or indicate whether any formal legal action had already been initiated against the influencer.

The development has sparked reactions online, with supporters and critics debating issues surrounding misinformation, freedom of expression and accountability on social media platforms.
