PenCom Chief Calls for Stronger Pension Industry Cooperation and Compliance

National Pension Commission Director General Omolola Oloworaran has urged pension operators and other stakeholders to deepen cooperation, strengthen compliance and pursue reforms that deliver better outcomes for retirees.

She spoke during a PenCom conference and awards dinner in Abuja, where individuals and organizations were recognised for their contributions to the development of the pension industry.

Oloworaran said awards should be viewed as encouragement to maintain high standards rather than as the conclusion of professional responsibilities. She emphasized institutional capacity, transparency and a shared commitment to improving the Contributory Pension Scheme.

The commission’s director of information and communications technology, Michael Popoola, also acknowledged the role of partners and stakeholders in supporting regulatory progress.

The gathering provided a platform for recognising achievements while reinforcing the need for pension administration to remain focused on the security of workers’ savings, regulatory compliance and the experience of retirees.

Further details of the award recipients and specific reform commitments were not included in the supplied account and should be obtained from PenCom if needed for a fuller event report.
