The Ogun State Executive Council has approved a new package of infrastructure projects covering housing, government facilities and roads, alongside the recognition and upgrading of several traditional stools.

The housing approvals include 450 two bedroom semi detached bungalows, 28 official quarters for members of the House of Assembly and 28 sellable duplexes at Ibara GRA Scheme II. The council also approved the reconstruction of the state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

Approved road projects include the Okun Owa to Ijebu Ode Road, the Ago Iwoye to Ijebu Igbo to Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Road, the first phase of the Odeda to Olugbo Road, the Ayobo Mopol Junction to Lafenwa Junction Road in Ota and Agbala Road in Iperu.

The council also recognised or upgraded traditional stools including the Akoko of Tongeji Island, the Onitafin of Orile Itafin and the Olu of Orile Itori Odo, together with selected coronet stools under the Ijebu, Egba and Yewa traditional councils.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Kayode Akinmade said the approvals were intended to improve connectivity, expand housing, preserve public assets, support investment and strengthen traditional institutions as partners in community development.
