Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested an 85-year-old woman, Grace Ehimeka, with 179 kilograms of suspected skunk during a series of anti-drug operations in Edo State.
The arrest was made during raids conducted between October 15 and 16 in Warake and surrounding communities in Owan East Local Government Area of the state.
According to the agency, five other suspects were also apprehended during the operations carried out in Warake, Ivhiaro and Ewe/Irue communities.
NDLEA officials said various quantities of cannabis and other illicit substances were recovered from the suspects during the raids.
The agency noted that the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse across the country.
Investigations into the matter are expected to continue as authorities work to dismantle drug supply networks operating within the affected communities.
