The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has postponed the unveiling and inauguration of its National Campaign Council (NCC) by one week, citing the tight schedule of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The event, initially scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, will now take place on Monday, October 26, 2026.

The party announced the change in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, who attributed the postponement to Obi’s “very tight schedule” and an important engagement overseas.

The NDC apologised for any inconvenience the change might cause to party members, supporters and other stakeholders.

It also urged members and supporters to remain focused on the party’s political objectives, particularly its efforts to secure victory for Obi and other NDC candidates in the forthcoming presidential and general elections.

The inauguration of the National Campaign Council is expected to mark a key step in the party’s preparations for the elections.
