The military says an air strike near Pulka in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State killed 15 suspected terrorists during an operation on October 23, 2026.
Captain Mohammed Goni, acting military information officer for Operation Hadin Kai, said the strike was conducted at about 11:50 p.m. northwest of Pulka after intelligence reports and sightings of suspected militant movements.
According to the military, ground forces subsequently moved into the area to assess the strike and consolidate the operation. Goni said the engagement formed part of continuing efforts to restrict the movement and operational capacity of armed groups in the North-east.
The reported casualty figure comes from the military and had not been independently verified. The statement did not provide identities of those killed or details of any civilian impact.
Operation Hadin Kai urged residents to provide credible information about suspicious activity and said cooperation between communities and security personnel remained important to its operations.
