Makinde Engages Protesters, Assures Ongoing Rescue Efforts for Abducted Teachers, Students

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday personally engaged protesters, including social media activist VeryDarkMan and members of the Ratels group, at his residence in Ikolaba, Ibadan, assuring them that efforts to secure the release of abducted teachers and students are ongoing.

The governor, who addressed the demonstrators directly, opted for dialogue and reassurance rather than confrontation, providing updates on security interventions aimed at rescuing the victims.

Makinde also commended the protesters for maintaining order throughout the demonstration, noting that their conduct remained peaceful and devoid of violence or destruction of property.

He praised their civic engagement, saying their decision to express concerns without resorting to chaos reflected responsible citizenship.

The governor further assured residents that security agencies are working around the clock to ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals to their families.

The protest followed growing public concern over the abduction, with citizens calling for swift and decisive action from authorities to secure the release of the victims.
