Labour Party Holds Session With Vice Presidential Candidate Bintu Konto

The national leadership of the Labour Party held an interactive session with its 2027 vice presidential candidate, Bintu Konto, at its Abuja secretariat, reaffirming confidence in the presidential ticket of Chibuzo Sunday Okereke and Konto.

National Chairman Nenadi Usman said Konto’s nomination reflects the party’s commitment to equity, inclusion and social justice, aligning with the party’s philosophy embracing all segments of society. She said the choice of a woman as vice presidential candidate demonstrates the party’s belief in equal opportunity, positioning Labour as the only major party in the 2027 race to give women such a prominent place on its ticket, and expressed confidence that Konto’s professional and humanitarian experience would strengthen governance if the ticket succeeds in 2027.

Presidential candidate Okereke said he was pleased to be paired with Konto, describing her as humble, dependable and highly experienced. Konto thanked party leadership for their confidence, describing Usman as a committed advocate for justice and fairness who continues to inspire many Nigerians.
