Kanye West’s Poland Concert Cancelled Amid Ongoing Controversy and UK Entry Ban

Another European concert by US rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, has been cancelled, as backlash over his past statements continues to affect his international engagements.

Organisers in Poland confirmed that the artist’s scheduled performance on June 19, 2026, at the Silesian Stadium will no longer take place. In a statement, stadium director Adam Strzyżewski said the cancellation was due to “formal and legal reasons,” without providing further details.

The development comes just days after West postponed a planned show in France, citing concerns about placing fans in the middle of ongoing controversy linked to his past antisemitic remarks. In a social media post, the rapper said he did not “want to put my fans in the middle of it.”

The cancellations follow a broader wave of criticism that has continued to impact the artist’s career across Europe. Earlier, authorities in the United Kingdom blocked West from entering the country, stating that his presence would not be “conducive to the public good.” The decision led to the cancellation of his anticipated headline appearances at the Wireless Festival in London after his electronic travel authorisation was withdrawn.

Polish officials had also previously expressed reservations about hosting the artist, reflecting growing unease among European governments and event organisers over his past public statements.

West, 48, has faced sustained backlash in recent years over controversial remarks, including antisemitic comments that drew widespread condemnation. In January, he issued an apology, attributing his behaviour in part to untreated bipolar disorder and distancing himself from earlier expressions of admiration for Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Despite the apology, the fallout has continued to affect his ability to perform internationally, with promoters and authorities increasingly cautious about hosting his events.

The latest cancellation underscores the ongoing challenges facing the artist as he seeks to rebuild his public image while navigating mounting restrictions on his appearances abroad.
