The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system allowing candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes.
The initiative, which initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is aimed at making the result-upload process easier, faster and more convenient for candidates.
JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed the development in a statement, saying the new service would provide candidates with an alternative to visiting Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges.
According to him, the initiative is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to digitise its services and reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes.
The new system is also expected to address some of the challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, submission of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in entering subjects and grades.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB’s e-Facility platform has been integrated with examination bodies to enable candidates’ results to be verified directly against official examination records.
Once verified, eligible candidates can download their results and complete the upload process electronically.
JAMB said the development would strengthen the integrity of the admission process while reducing errors and making it easier for candidates to submit accurate academic credentials.
The board is expected to extend the facility to results from other recognised examination bodies as the integration process progresses.
