Interswitch Launches Digital Platform to Modernize Nigeria’s Interstate Transport Ticketing

Interswitch has launched its Ticket Vending Platform, a comprehensive digital solution designed to transform ticketing operations, streamline management processes, and improve service delivery across Nigeria’s interstate transport sector, connecting operators to a broader consumer base through the Quickteller ecosystem.

The platform enables transport operators, particularly small and medium enterprises, to digitize end-to-end processes including route creation and management, terminal oversight, sales tracking, and real-time performance monitoring from a single centralized system. At its core is a secure token-based system allowing travelers to purchase digital tickets across web, mobile, and point-of-sale devices deployed at transport terminals, with tokens serving as verifiable digital vouchers validated at boarding points to reduce inefficiencies from manual ticketing, cash handling, and fragmented sales.

Interswitch Managing Director for Industry Ecosystems Chinyere Don-Okhuofu described the platform as scalable digital infrastructure that empowered transport operators to modernize operations and expand their reach while delivering a more seamless experience to travelers, and said the broader ambition was to create a connected ecosystem bringing together operators, commuters, and regulators on a unified platform driving transparency and long-term value.

For travelers, the platform introduces a marketplace experience enabling search, comparison, and selection of transport options across multiple operators based on routes, schedules, and pricing. For corporate and institutional users, it supports bulk token purchases for employee or group travel management. Regulators and stakeholders gain access to structured data and actionable insights supporting oversight, licensing, and consumer protection.
