Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday commissioned the 198-kilometre Water Pipeline Network in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), marking a significant milestone in efforts to improve access to potable water for residents.

The commissioning ceremony, held in Abuja, was attended by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike; the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmood; the Managing Director of China Geo-Engineering Limited, Zhong Xiang; and other government officials and dignitaries.

The 198-kilometre pipeline network is expected to strengthen water supply infrastructure in Bwari and surrounding communities, providing residents with improved access to clean and safe drinking water.

The project forms part of the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s ongoing infrastructure development programme aimed at expanding essential public services and improving the quality of life for residents across the territory.

Speaking during the event, the dignitaries reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure that supports sustainable development and enhances the welfare of citizens.

The water pipeline project is one of several infrastructure initiatives being implemented by the FCT Administration to address the growing demand for basic amenities in the nation’s capital.
