FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles Slip Four Places to 30th in World

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped four places in the latest FIFA Men’s World Ranking released on Wednesday, falling from 26th to 30th position globally.

The decline comes after the team’s disappointing outing against Guinea-Bissau, which impacted their standing in the rankings.

The latest ranking also saw the Super Eagles lose ground on the African continent, dropping from fourth to sixth place among Africa’s top-ranked national teams.

Nigeria is now ranked behind Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire in Africa.

The drop represents a setback for Éric Chelle’s side as they continue their preparations for upcoming international competitions and qualification campaigns.

Despite the slide in the rankings, the Super Eagles remain among Africa’s leading football nations and will be aiming to improve their position in future FIFA windows through strong performances in competitive and international fixtures.

Morocco retains its position as Africa’s highest-ranked team, followed by Egypt and Senegal, while Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire also remain ahead of Nigeria in the continental standings.

The latest FIFA rankings are expected to intensify pressure on the Super Eagles to secure positive results in upcoming matches as they seek to reclaim their place among the continent’s top-ranked sides.
