Fadahunsi Congratulates Adeleke, Pledges Support after Osun Re-Election

Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election and pledged cooperation with the administration during its second term.

The message, dated September 4, 2026, marked a conciliatory shift after weeks of political tension surrounding the August 15 governorship election.

Fadahunsi congratulated Adeleke on behalf of his political associates and constituents in Osun East.

He described the governor’s re-election as a reflection of the mandate and confidence of Osun voters.

The senator said the second term offered an opportunity to consolidate on projects and programs implemented during Adeleke’s first tenure.

He also urged the governor to give greater attention to the development needs of Osun East while ensuring equitable distribution of projects and public resources across the state.

Fadahunsi assured Adeleke of his support and said political differences should not stand in the way of cooperation on issues affecting peace, development and prosperity.

His intervention comes after controversy during the campaign period over remarks attributed to him about Accord Party members and supporters.

Political opponents had accused him of threatening violence, an interpretation Fadahunsi publicly rejected.

With the election concluded, the senator said cooperation among political leaders and stakeholders would be essential to achieving progress across Osun State.

He expressed hope that Adeleke’s second term would be more inclusive and deliver wider democratic dividends.
