Defence Headquarters Graduates Air-to-Ground Combatants, Reaffirms Military Readiness

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has graduated a new set of Air-to-Ground Combatants following the successful completion of a 16-week specialised training programme aimed at strengthening the operational capacity and combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

The military said the intensive training was designed to equip personnel with advanced combat skills, tactical coordination techniques, precision targeting and mission planning capabilities required for modern warfare and joint military operations.

According to the Defence Headquarters, the programme is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the professionalism and effectiveness of the nation’s armed forces in addressing evolving security challenges and protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

The DHQ noted that the graduation underscores the military’s commitment to continuous capacity building and operational excellence in line with its mandate to safeguard the country against internal and external threats.

It expressed confidence that the newly trained combatants are fully prepared for deployment and will play a vital role in ongoing military operations aimed at combating terrorism, insurgency, banditry and other forms of criminality across the country.

The Defence Headquarters reaffirmed its resolve to sustain investments in specialised training and force development to ensure the Armed Forces remain well-equipped to respond effectively to emerging security threats and maintain peace and stability nationwide.
