Benue ADC Predicts Atiku Victory, Unveils John Abba as Running Mate

The African Democratic Congress in Benue State has expressed confidence that its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, can win the 2027 presidential election.

The party’s governorship candidate, Herman Hembe, made the prediction while unveiling John Abba as his deputy governorship candidate in Makurdi.

Hembe said a committee had been established to consult on the choice of running mate and that the process had the backing of the party’s national leadership.

He described Abba’s emergence as transparent and urged party members to mobilise for all ADC candidates.

Explaining his electoral calculation, Hembe said he expected southern votes to be divided among rival presidential candidates while Atiku remained competitive across the three northern geopolitical zones.

He argued that a strong presidential performance could also improve the party’s prospects in subsequent state elections.

Hembe said his own governorship ambition was limited to one term, after which he intended to support a transfer of power to Benue South in line with his proposed zoning arrangement.
