Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has pledged to tackle Nigeria’s rising cost of living and improve security if elected president in the 2027 general election.
In a statement shared on his official X account, the former vice-president urged eligible Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing them as a critical tool for democratic participation and national change.
Atiku lamented the economic hardship facing many Nigerians, saying families across the country were struggling with the increasing costs of food, transportation, housing, and healthcare.
According to him, many parents are unable to meet basic family needs, while pensioners are often forced to choose between purchasing food and medication. He also noted that insecurity remains a major concern, with citizens living in fear of kidnappings and violent attacks.
The ADC presidential candidate blamed the administration of President Bola Tinubu for worsening economic conditions and promised to reverse the trend if elected.
“Bola made life expensive. I will work to make life affordable again and restore the security every Nigerian deserves,” Atiku stated.
He called on voters to safeguard their PVCs and prepare to participate actively in the electoral process.
“It is your voice, your choice and your peaceful power to demand change,” he said.
Atiku further urged Nigerians to unite across generations in pursuit of a future where citizens can live with dignity, safety, and hope.
