All Progressives Congress National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda has apologized to party members in Oyo State who felt excluded or unfairly treated during internal primary elections.
Yilwatda made the appeal in Ibadan during the launch of the party’s campaign office.
He said the APC National Working Committee accepted responsibility for mistakes made by committees appointed to conduct party primaries.
The chairman said the apology was not limited to Oyo State and would apply wherever members had legitimate grievances arising from actions taken by committees representing the national leadership.
He appealed to dissatisfied members to forgive the party and work toward unity ahead of the 2027 general election.
Yilwatda said internal disagreements should be treated as family matters and resolved through reconciliation rather than prolonged division.
He stressed the political importance of Oyo State, citing its large voting population.
The APC governorship candidate in the state, Sharafadeen Alli, praised the national chairman for engaging aspirants and stakeholders.
Alli said the visit had helped fulfill commitments made to party members during earlier consultations.
He assured the national leadership that the Oyo chapter would continue working to strengthen internal unity.
The reconciliation effort comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 election cycle.
The APC leadership is seeking to reduce internal divisions that could affect mobilization, candidate support and voter turnout during the campaign.
