The All Progressives Congress has marked the first anniversary of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman, describing his leadership as a period of reconciliation, institutional reform and renewed confidence within the ruling party.
In a statement issued in Sokoto, the party said Yilwatda inherited a challenging political environment but responded by rebuilding trust and strengthening internal cooperation.
The statement was signed by the chairman’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Yusuf Dingyadi.
According to the APC, Yilwatda focused on consultation, reconciliation and reform during his first 12 months in office.
The party said aggrieved members were encouraged to return, while disputes within party structures were addressed through dialogue.
It credited the chairman’s inclusive approach with improving cooperation among members of the National Working Committee, party elders and stakeholders across the country.
The APC also said administrative procedures at its national secretariat had been reorganized to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability.
Structures at ward, local government and state levels were also strengthened.
The party said engagement with young people, women, persons with disabilities and grassroots supporters had expanded as part of preparations for future elections.
It expressed confidence that the reforms would strengthen the APC’s organization and improve its prospects in the 2027 general election.
