APC Appeal Committee Receives Five Petitions Over Delta National Assembly Primaries

The All Progressives Congress National Assembly Primaries Appeal Committee for Delta State has disclosed that it received five petitions following the party’s recently concluded National Assembly primaries in the state.

Chairman of the committee, Chukwuemeka Ujam, made this known on Tuesday while speaking with journalists at the APC secretariat in Asaba.

Ujam said the committee was already reviewing petitions submitted by aggrieved party members and stakeholders concerning the conduct of the primaries.

According to him, the five-member panel was deployed to Delta State in line with the party’s guidelines for the conduct of the APC primary elections.

He explained that the committee initially arrived in the state on Sunday shortly after the House of Representatives primaries and later reconvened following the senatorial district primaries to continue its assignment.

“We have been receiving petitions and we will prepare our reports later. The process is still ongoing because the day is not yet over,” Ujam said.

Speaking on the outcome of the senatorial primaries, he clarified that the committee’s responsibility was limited to reviewing complaints arising from the conduct of the exercises.

“As we receive the petitions, we are already reviewing them and making our notes on each one. But you do not expect me to divulge what we are doing,” he added.
