Anthony Guidera, Actor Known for The Godfather Part III, Dies at 65

Anthony Guidera, the actor best known for his role in The Godfather Part III, has died at the age of 65.

According to reports, Guidera passed away on Saturday after spending three weeks on life support following a medical emergency on May 11. His wife, Valarie Anderson, told TMZ that the actor collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest before being hospitalized.

Anderson, who was married to Guidera for three decades, said doctors later removed him from life support to allow him to return home and die peacefully. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

Announcing the tragic loss in a Facebook post, Anderson wrote: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony. We are devastated and trying to breathe through the impossible, taking each moment as it comes. Please hold this eternal light in your hearts and our family in your prayers.”

Guidera gained recognition for portraying a bodyguard named Anthony in the 1990 crime drama The Godfather Part III, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.

He later appeared alongside actress Natasha Henstridge in the 1995 science-fiction horror film Species. The pair earned an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss for their performance in the movie.

Throughout the 1990s, Guidera featured in several notable Hollywood productions, including The Rock (1996), The Postman (1997), and Armageddon (1998).

His television credits included appearances in popular series such as ER, Hope & Gloria, Baywatch Nights, and Valley of the Dolls.

According to his IMDb profile, his final screen appearance came in the 2005 comedy L.A. Dicks.

Guidera is survived by his wife, Valarie Anderson, and their son, Nick.
