Air Peace has expanded its regional operations with the launch of its inaugural Lagos–Douala–Libreville service, further strengthening its commitment to improving connectivity across Africa.
The airline said the new route connects Nigeria’s commercial capital with Douala, Cameroon, and Libreville, Gabon, creating new opportunities for trade, tourism, investment and cultural exchange between West and Central Africa.
According to Air Peace, the route forms part of its broader strategy to deepen intra-African connectivity while positioning Lagos as a major aviation hub for regional and international travel.
The airline’s inaugural delegation, led by Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, and Director of Flight Operations, Captain Augustine Kamano, received a warm welcome upon arrival at Douala International Airport from officials of the Nigerian Consulate, Cameroon’s aviation authorities, airport management and representatives of the Nigerian community.
Representing the Nigerian Ambassador to Cameroon, Foreign Affairs Officer Suliat Paramole described the new route as a significant step toward strengthening the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and Cameroon through improved air connectivity.
President-General of the Nigerian Community in Cameroon’s Littoral Region, Chief Lovinus Ezeh, also welcomed the service, saying it would make travel easier for Nigerians while promoting stronger economic and social ties between both countries.
Speaking on behalf of the Douala Airport Authority, Lt. Col. Adolphe Nyamke Bongkwaha said the new route would reinforce Douala’s position as a regional aviation gateway and facilitate increased movement of passengers and businesses.
Ngala described the launch as another milestone in Air Peace’s African expansion strategy, noting that the airline remains committed to building an integrated aviation network that enables seamless travel from its domestic routes through Lagos to destinations across Africa, London and the Caribbean.
The inaugural flight later proceeded to Libreville, where it was received by officials of Gabon’s civil aviation authority, Libreville Airport and representatives of the Nigerian community.
Officials in Gabon welcomed the airline’s entry into the market, expressing confidence that the route would boost regional connectivity, expand travel options and strengthen economic and people-to-people relations between Nigeria, Gabon and neighbouring countries.
The launch comes just a day after Air Peace commenced operations on the Lagos–Conakry–Bamako route, underscoring the airline’s aggressive expansion across the continent.
Air Peace said the addition of Douala and Libreville to its network reinforces its vision of promoting seamless intra-African travel while supporting trade, tourism, investment and economic growth across the continent.
