Air Peace Adds Embraer 190 as Fleet Expansion Continues

The carrier says the 96 seat aircraft is its eighth acquisition of 2026 and will support domestic, regional and international connectivity.

Air Peace has taken delivery of another Embraer 190 aircraft, raising its Embraer fleet to 18 as the airline continues an acquisition programme designed to expand capacity and improve schedule reliability.

The carrier said the aircraft arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on October 7, 2026, piloted by Captain Ibironke Rotimi Olajide. It is the eighth aircraft acquired by the company this year, according to its statement.

The 96 seat jet is configured with 12 business class and 84 economy class seats. The cabin provides a single seat on one side of the business class aisle and two seats on the other, while economy passengers have two seats on each side without a middle seat.

Air Peace said the aircraft includes power outlets and a cabin designed to provide greater comfort on routes suited to the Embraer 190. The airline also operates the newer Embraer E195 E2 series and a fleet of Boeing aircraft.

According to the company, five Boeing 737 800 aircraft have been acquired in 2026 as part of the wider expansion programme. The newest Embraer has been named in honor of Eka Sunmonu, wife of former Shell Petroleum Development Company managing director Mutiu Sunmonu.

Spokesperson Osifo Whiskey Efe said the acquisition would give the airline more flexibility in assigning aircraft to different markets and help it strengthen operations across Nigeria, other African destinations and international routes.

The company described fleet diversification as central to its long term network plans, although it did not announce specific new routes or a revised timetable in connection with the latest arrival.
