Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has inaugurated the Oke-Fia Flyover in Osogbo and urged residents to participate massively and peacefully in the August 15 governorship election.
Adeleke said voting remained the strongest democratic instrument available to citizens and appealed to eligible voters to exercise their rights without violence.
The governor thanked residents for supporting his administration and said a second term would allow the government to expand its development programmes.
At the inauguration, the Ataoja of Osogbo, represented by retired Justice Moshud Adekunle Adeigbe, praised the project and said it would improve traffic movement and the appearance of the state capital.
The traditional institution described the flyover as another major infrastructure project delivered under the Adeleke administration.
Music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, also addressed the gathering.
He urged voters to turn out in large numbers, vote for candidates of their choice and remain peaceful while ensuring that lawful votes were counted.
The event attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, government officials, party supporters and residents ahead of the closely watched governorship election.
