Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has inaugurated a 52-member Imole Campaign Council to coordinate his re-election bid ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, declaring with evident confidence that he already felt the certainty of victory around him and his political movement.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the governor drew direct parallels with his successful 2022 campaign, expressing conviction that the same energy and momentum were building again in what he described as a march toward a decisive electoral victory.
“I am feeling the victory, the defeat of our opponents. This team is heading to victory. My spirit confirms our party, the Accord, is declared winner with wide margins. This is how we started in 2022. Today is the march to victory on August 15th,” he said.
The Imole Campaign Council 2026, designed as the apex strategic organ of the governor’s re-election campaign, will function as the central coordinating body and strategic think tank responsible for driving campaign strategy, mobilisation, political messaging, and overall electoral direction. The 52-member body drew from a broad mix of experienced politicians, legal professionals, communication specialists, and grassroots mobilisers from across all geopolitical zones of the state.
The council will be chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council at Osun State University, Professor Wale Ladipo. Senate Minority Leader Senator Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi was appointed Director General. The Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director General, with prominent lawyer and public interest advocate Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson and Prince Bola Ajao as Secretary.Separately, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, hosted Governor Adeleke at the Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife, where he commended the governor’s leadership style and called for the accelerated completion of ongoing infrastructure projects in the ancient city. The governor confirmed that his visit to Ile-Ife was part of a programme that included an empowerment initiative and an inspection of ongoing road construction projects including the Lagere Flyover, pledging that contractors would be directed to accelerate work for timely delivery.
