The All Democratic Alliance has threatened to begin contempt proceedings against officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission over an alleged failure to comply with a court order relating to its political party registration process.
The association said it had not received the access code required to upload information requested by INEC.
Protem National Secretary Aminu Ahmed said the missing code had prevented the organisation from submitting details of party officials, office locations, administrative staff and other registration information.
ADA said it was among political associations earlier shortlisted by INEC for possible registration as a political party.
The group claimed a Federal High Court directed the commission to issue the code within a specified period.
It gave the INEC Chairman and relevant officials another 48 hours from August 10, 2026 to comply.
ADA said failure to do so would lead it to initiate contempt proceedings.
The association described the delay as an obstruction of its attempt to complete registration ahead of the 2027 election.
