Access Holdings Plc has expanded its green asset portfolio to N92.14 billion while reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions by 28.47 per cent against its 2022 baseline.
The figures were contained in the group’s 2025 Sustainability Report filed with the Nigerian Exchange.
The green portfolio rose from N72.32 billion in 2024 and N22 billion in 2021 as the company continued to integrate sustainability into lending, capital allocation and operations.
During the year, the group deployed N72.3 billion under its Sustainable Finance Framework and increased its cumulative sustainability-focused loan portfolio to $1.269 billion.
Operational emissions declined to 49,352 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent from 57,176 tonnes in 2024. The reduction was supported by solar installations at 263 branches and the deployment of 323 solar-powered automated teller machines.
The group also expanded access to finance for about 2.53 million low-income individuals, onboarded 78,438 new micro, small and medium enterprises and processed 2.8 billion transactions.
A total of 354,156 loans valued at N67.4 billion were extended to women and women-owned businesses.
Access Holdings said its corporate social investment programmes reached more than 2.4 million beneficiaries across education, health, entrepreneurship and environmental initiatives. Employees contributed 359,500 volunteer hours, while more than 50,000 trees were planted.
Women accounted for 49 per cent of the workforce and 44.4 per cent of the board. Employee satisfaction rose to 87 per cent, while staff attrition declined to about 11 per cent.
The report was prepared using the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, supported by the Global Reporting Initiative and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board frameworks.
The group said climate and environmental, social and governance risks had been integrated into capital planning, credit approval and board oversight.
It also reported zero material sustainability-related regulatory penalties for a second consecutive year and no cybersecurity breaches.
Access Holdings mobilized $185.38 million in concessional funding from development finance institutions and allocated N4.8 billion from profit before tax to sustainability programs.
Group Chief Executive Officer Innocent Ike said the results showed that sustainability had become central to value creation, risk management and inclusive growth.
The group plans to deepen investment in low-carbon and climate-resilient assets, improve financed-emissions data, expand renewable-energy adoption and move its green portfolio towards the N475 billion target.
