The Peoples Democratic Party has set December 10, 2026, as its internal deadline for submitting polling unit agent nominations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
National organising secretary Umar Bature announced the timetable at a training programme in Abuja for state party officials responsible for registering agents on the Independent National Electoral Commission portal.
Bature said early preparation would reduce technical problems and allow state chapters to vet nominees before their details were uploaded. The party wants agents who are dependable, properly documented and ready to monitor voting and collation processes.
The training reportedly drew state secretaries, organising secretaries and information technology officers from several chapters. Bature also referred to earlier disagreements with INEC over candidate uploads and urged officials to follow the required procedures carefully. The December 10 date was presented as a PDP administrative deadline. It should not be confused with an INEC statutory deadline unless independently confirmed from the commission’s official election timetable
