Political support group presents 57 campaign vehicles and calls for voter registration ahead of the presidential election.
A political movement associated with Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, has begun a mobilization drive in Lagos aimed at improving President Bola Tinubu’s performance in the state at the 2027 presidential election.
At a rally, Ekpemupolo’s message was delivered by Kestin Pondi, who urged eligible residents to participate in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s continuous voter registration exercise and obtain Permanent Voter Cards. The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement also presented 57 vehicles to its state coordinators for campaign activities.
The organisers said they wanted a different result from the 2023 presidential election in Lagos, where Tinubu did not win the state. They described his administration’s economic and infrastructure measures as reforms that deserved further public support.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu addressed supporters and argued that the federal government’s policies were beginning to stabilise the economy. He highlighted roads, education-related support, minimum-wage changes and pension funding among the administration’s claimed achievements, while criticising opposition parties.
Movement national coordinator Sunday Asuku appealed for an electoral campaign based on voter participation rather than intimidation or violence. He urged supporters to persuade eligible voters and turn out at the polls.
The rally was a partisan campaign event, and the assessments of Tinubu’s record were made by his supporters. The scale of public backing for any candidate will ultimately be determined through the electoral process.
