Kwara State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate Yakubu Danladi Salihu has promised to build on the programmes of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq if elected in 2027.
Danladi, who is Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, made the pledge during a visit to traditional leaders and party stakeholders in Kwara Central Senatorial District.
He led other APC candidates to the palace of the Emir of Ilorin as part of a mobilisation and appreciation tour.
The governorship candidate thanked traditional rulers, religious leaders, party members, women and youth groups for their support.
He said the development programmes being implemented by the current administration would continue under an APC successor.
Danladi also expressed support for President Bola Tinubu and predicted electoral success for the party in 2027.
House of Representatives member Mukhtar Shagaya said voters in the state would support continuity rather than return to previous political arrangements.
Other APC leaders highlighted projects and programmes implemented in education, roads, healthcare and social investment.
Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority Chairman Abdullateef Gidado Alakawa credited Danladi with providing legislative support for the governor’s agenda.
Traditional leaders who received the campaign delegation prayed for peaceful elections and urged candidates to remain accessible to the public.
The APC team said it would continue consultations across the state ahead of the general election.
