Jeremy Clarkson Announces Remission From Prostate Cancer

British television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he is officially in remission from prostate cancer, just days after publicly disclosing his diagnosis.

The 66-year-old shared the update in an interview with the Sunday Times, confirming that follow-up tests conducted two months ago showed no signs of cancer.

“I am without a doubt, officially, the world’s luckiest man,” Clarkson said.

The former Top Gear and The Grand Tour host explained that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer in 2025, a revelation he first made during the latest season of his hit farming series, Clarkson’s Farm.

According to Clarkson, the cancer had the potential to spread to other parts of his body if it had not been detected early.

“It was an aggressive type of cancer. It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble,” he said.

Early Detection Saved His Life

In a video posted on Instagram over the weekend, Clarkson emphasized the importance of regular health screenings, crediting early detection for his successful treatment.

“You will have noticed that I’m not dead,” he joked. “The reason why I’m fine is because the doctors caught the prostate cancer early, and they caught it early because I got tested.”

He urged men to undergo routine checks, highlighting the thousands of lives lost to the disease each year in the United Kingdom.

Clarkson revealed that part of his prostate was removed as part of his treatment and that he now undergoes regular blood tests to monitor his health.

Although he acknowledged there is a risk of recurrence, he remains optimistic about the future.

“I try to be positive. I’ve decided to be one of the 60% who doesn’t have a recurrence,” he said.

Health Journey Featured on Clarkson’s Farm

Clarkson’s cancer battle became a major storyline in the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm. The season concluded with an emotional scene showing the presenter in a hospital bed awaiting the outcome of his treatment.

“If this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t,” he told viewers before signing off with, “Take care everyone.”

The diagnosis followed a routine medical examination in May 2025. Reflecting on his experience, Clarkson again encouraged others to prioritize regular health checks.

“This is why I have to say to everybody, please, please, please go and get checked,” he said. “It’s not uncomfortable, it’s not undignified. It’s a no-brainer.”

Previous Health Challenges

Before his cancer diagnosis, Clarkson underwent a heart procedure in October 2024, during which doctors inserted two stents to help prevent a potentially fatal heart attack.

Despite facing several health challenges in recent years, the broadcaster says he is focused on recovery and maintaining a positive outlook.

His announcement has been met with widespread support from fans and colleagues, many of whom praised his openness in raising awareness about prostate cancer and the importance of early detection.
