Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and other aspirants under the Allied People’s Movement have formally received expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 general elections, as the party advanced preparations for screening, clearance, and eventual candidate submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Mohammed, who is seeking to become the first former Bauchi governor elected to the Senate, led the pack of aspirants who received their forms from APM National Chairman Auwal Isa at a presentation ceremony.
The party confirmed a consensus arrangement agreed at a broader stakeholders meeting, under which the gubernatorial ticket was zoned to Bauchi North Senatorial Zone, with former Finance Commissioner Yakubu Adamu emerging as the gubernatorial candidate and current Bauchi Local Government Executive Chairman Mahmud Babamaji selected as his running mate. The APM chairman expressed satisfaction with the maturity shown by all stakeholders in resolving the selections amicably, and said the growing acceptance of the party across the state and the country positioned it to spring surprises in 2027.
