Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Wednesday hosted a delegation from the United States Embassy in Nigeria as both countries explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

The delegation, which visited the minister at his office in Abuja, was led by the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the US Embassy, Tim Smith.

Other members of the delegation included Pamela Hack and Jane Jensen.

According to the minister, discussions during the roundtable meeting focused on consolidating the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and the United States.

The meeting also explored modalities for expanding bilateral collaboration across strategic sectors and strengthening existing partnerships between both nations.

Tunji-Ojo said the engagement reaffirmed the commitment of Nigeria and the United States to sustaining strong diplomatic and strategic relations aimed at advancing shared interests.

The visit comes amid ongoing diplomatic engagements between Nigeria and international partners on issues relating to governance, migration, security cooperation, and consular affairs.
